Advancing Canada’s Grasslands Together Workshop
Thursday, November 12
The Advancing Canada’s Grasslands Together Workshop is a hybrid, full-day forum that brings together producers, extension professionals, conservation organizations, industry representatives, Indigenous Nations, researchers, and policy leaders to explore the future of Canada’s grasslands and identify coordinated pathways for action. Designed to foster cross-sector dialogue and collaboration, the workshop will examine the opportunities and challenges facing grassland ecosystems and the people who depend on them.
The day begins with project updates and discussions highlighting the national momentum behind grassland stewardship, including insights from the Tomorrow’s Prairies and Grassland Learning & Knowledge Hub projects. Participants will explore emerging findings related to grassland condition, biodiversity, carbon sequestration, socioeconomic drivers, and projected changes through 2050, while considering how science, stewardship, policy, and knowledge mobilization can work together to support resilient grassland systems.
Through plenary discussion and facilitated roundtables, attendees will engage in conversations focused on indicators and knowledge mobilization, industry pathways and producer-centered solutions, and conservation, policy, and cross-jurisdictional collaboration. The workshop concludes with participants identifying shared priorities, near-term actions, and partnerships needed to advance grassland stewardship and shape the next decade of grassland action in Canada.

Technology Tinder Workshop
Thursday, November 12
The Technology Tinder Workshop is a in-person only fast‑paced, hands‑on exploration of emerging forage and grazing technologies designed specifically for producers and extension advisors. Built around a playful “matchmaking” format, the workshop helps participants compare tools, test practicality, and identify the technologies that best fit their real‑world grazing challenges.
The day begins with rapid‑fire tech pitches and a swipe‑card icebreaker, followed by immersive Deep Dive Sessions where attendees rotate through six technology tables for demos, producer reality checks, and live scoring. Featured tools include John Deere Operations Centre, Agrivanna, Measur Drones, Rangeview, and AgribotAI .
After lunch, participants will hear three short, future‑focused talks from leaders in grazing education—Brenda Ralston (Lakeland College), Brianna Elliot (Olds College), and Stacey Domolewski (BCRC) —before joining the Love It, Leave It, Dream It producer panel, where ranchers unpack what works, what doesn’t, and what they wish existed. The workshop closes with a Commitment Wall, where attendees cast final votes for technology adoption and identify one action they’ll take over the next six months to support tech adoption in their operation or region .
