Ryder is the general manager of the Canadian Cattle Association (CCA). He started with the CCA in 2005 and has worked on domestic policy and programs ever since through time with CCA, as CEO of Saskatchewan Cattlemen’s Association and since 2022 again with CCA. 

Forage insurance for perennial crops (hay and grassland) has a much lower uptake than annual crop insurance. During his presentation at the CFGA’s 14th annual conference, Ryder will discuss how the Industry Government Forage Insurance Task Team is working to address any program and delivery shortcomings that might contribute to the difference in uptake.
