John Kolk has farmed in the Iron Springs/Enchant area for 40 plus years. With his family, he runs @ 3000 irrigation acres. Most  of those acres have been brought into irrigation over that past 10 years.

They grows dry beans, seed canola, malt barley and some forages for export.  They have worked with strip tillage and some cover crops on the row crops and uses Variable Rate Irrigation on some challenging quarters.

John has served on numerous agricultural and Comunity boards and councils.

He currently  chairs the “Alberta Biodiversity Monitoring Institute” and sits on “Results Driven Agricultural Research” (RDAR) serves on his local church council.
