Soil Health Summer Tour with Joel Williams
Converting Marginal Land to Forages
Join internationally recognized soil health and regenerative agriculture expert Joel Williams for an informative field tour focused on improving soil health and productivity through the strategic use of forages.
This workshop will explore why some grainlands lose productivity and how forage systems can help address challenges such as declining soil health, salinity, and reduced resilience. Participants will learn how to select forage species for difficult growing conditions, develop successful establishment strategies, and integrate forages into existing crop rotations.
Whether you are considering converting marginal acres to forage production or looking for ways to strengthen the productivity of your current operation, this event will provide practical, science-based insights that can be applied on the farm. Discussions will focus on improving soil health, increasing productivity, and building long-term resilience in prairie agricultural systems.
The event will be delivered as a guided field tour, providing participants with the opportunity to see concepts in action and discuss management practices directly in the field.
