March is Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month (CALM), a national celebration that takes place every March to share Canada’s rich agriculture and food story with students from kindergarten to Grade 12. 

Ken Wall, a Federated Co-op advisor and forage specialist for the Southern Prairie Regions, presented at the CFGA’s 14th annual conference, on the many benefits of growing forages in a cropping rotation.

We’re pleased to announce funding is now available for 2024 projects under the On-Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF). The first intake is March 8 - 15 and a second intake will take place April 1 - 30.

Andrew Rushmere with Farmers for Climate Solutions (FCS) presented at the CFGA’s 14th annual conference. His talk was "Farmers and ranchers are part of the GHG solution: A farmer-led task force model for change in agriculture".

Ross MacDonald with Regeneration Canada presented Grasslands: The gold standard of regeneration! which looked at native grasslands in a regenerative agriculture context.  

Discover opportunities, the 2023 conference celebrated the important environmental and economic role forages and grasslands play across the country while delivering the practical, grassroots-based agronomic knowledge.

Dr. Bart Lardner, professor from the University of Saskatchewan, presented at the CFGA’s 14th annual conference. His presentation focused on pasture management to enhance the benefits from legumes and carbon sequestration.

Dr. Dan Undersander, a forage specialist and professor emeritus from the University of Wisconsin, presented at the CFGA’s 14th annual conference.
