It’s time to register for the Canadian Forage and Grassland Association’s (CFGA) 16th annual conference! Early bird registration closes on Sunday, Aug. 31, and then the price goes up on this not-to-be-missed event for producers, agronomists, researchers and industry leaders in the forage and grassland sectors. 
 
Organized in partnership with the New Brunswick Soil and Crop Improvement Association (NBSCIA), this year’s conference will take place at the historic Crowne Plaza Hotel in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Nov. 18 to 21. The theme is Greener Horizons: Technological Innovations in Forage and Grassland Management and this year’s conference will highlight the cutting-edge advancements shaping the future of sustainable agriculture.  
 
Pre-conference workshops 
The CFGA’s 2025 Conference kicks off on Nov. 18 with concurrent pre-conference workshops and seminars. The first one will include high-level discussion and collaboration around grassland sustainability efforts, including ongoing research into barriers and opportunities for growth the CFGA is currently encountering in some of its projects. This is a closed, invitation-only seminar. Those interested should email Kaylee Healy at [email protected] to discuss potential participation. 
 
The second workshop will focus on leadership in advanced grazing to equip experienced rotational grazers and grazing extension specialists with strategies, tools and applied expertise to help them drive sustainable land management and advanced rotational grazing practices through mentorship in their communities. The day will include an overview of what AGS is, discussion on various skills grazing mentors need and a high-level cell-design segment that integrates advanced considerations and concepts.

Conference highlights 
Following the pre-conference workshops will be two full days, Nov. 19 and 20, of expert-led sessions on themes such as smart tech and digital agriculture; pasture systems; grassland and pasture management; forage production and storage; and market trends. The post-conference tour on Nov. 21 will takes attendees to farms for on-the-ground exposure to agriculture in the host province. There will also be ample socializing and networking opportunities during the four-day event including at the welcome reception, an industry tradeshow and the annual CFGA Leadership Award dinner.
