The Canadian Forage and Grassland Association (CFGA) is accepting nominations for its 2025 Leadership Award. Established in 2012 to recognize and encourage leadership in the forage and grassland sector, this award recognizes individuals, groups or organizations who exemplify or enhance the goals of the CFGA and whose leadership has impact of national and/or international significance. 

The deadline for nominations is Oct. 15, 2025. Download the 2025 Leadership Award Nomination form. Please attach additional pages as required and submit completed nomination forms electronically to [email protected],  Attention: Awards Committee. 

The CFGA will inform the selected recipient by Oct. 22, 2025. The award will be presented during a special Leadership Award dinner on Nov. 19 during the CFGA’s 16th Annual Conference in Fredericton, New Brunswick, taking place Nov. 18 to 21. The recipient may be asked to participate in the CFGA conference with an acceptance speech during the award ceremony.

2024 Leadership Award winner 

The CFGA presented its 2024 Leadership Award on Dec. 4, 2024, to Dr. Annie Claessens at a special dinner during the 15th Annual Conference. Read more.  

2025 Annual Conference

Registration is open for the CFGA’s 16th Annual Conference which will take place Nov. 18 to 21 in Fredericton, New Brunswick. 

The conference is being organized in partnership with the CFGA provincial partner the New Brunswick Soil and Crop Improvement Association (NBSCIA). The theme is Greener Horizons: Technological Innovations in Forage and Grassland Management and the event will include pre-conference workshops, two days of presentations and a not-to-be-missed post conference tour to several New Brunswick farms.
