In the process of starting her own farm in Petite Rivière, Nova Scotia, Emma is a Master of Resource and Environmental Management candidate at Dalhousie University (Kjipuktuk/Halifax) and has an undergraduate degree in biology, with a focus on species-at-risk conservation. For the past several years, she has been doing community food security work in Halifax and Dartmouth, using a strengths-based approach to help build community resiliency. Emma looks after curriculum development and producer engagement for the CFGA.
Emma has a keen interest in sustainable food systems, community-based conservation and nature-based climate change adaptation. She is eager to explore approaches for integrating climate change adaptation and mitigation techniques, and conservation solutions, on agricultural lands.
